A lot of work for very little gain. To say nothing of the expense. For an overdrive to be effective you first must have the power to pull the vehicle at it's gross weight at the higher gear ratio. We all know the Model A horsepower but what few consider is the power curve. The Model A runs best at 1500 to 2000 rpm. (Mine). This means a ground speed of no more than 50 MPH max. With a 33% overdrive reduction in RPM's in order to stay in the power curve and thus not lug the engine I must increase cruise speed proportionally. Which means cruising at 65 mph in a car clearly not designed for those speeds when new not to mention at age 67. Sell the OD unit and enjoy life at 1930 speed. For 1997 speed Ford has several models for sale that cruise elegntly at speeds of 65 and more. MY opinion.
