Some restoration books refer to keeping the welded seam on the left(drivers side)differential housing to the front. Are they refering to the seam that runs from the banjo out to the wheel? If so it appears to me that there are a lot of differentials with the seam on the tops and bottoms. What am I missing? What is the significants of this referance in the books as they don't really explain. I have about five rear ends apart right now for parts and all of a sudden am wondering about this comment. Would like clarification before I start reassembly.
