I drive A's about 3-4 days a week. I do grocery, hardware, out to eat, auto parts store, to and from work, club meetings, tours, joy riding, etc. When all the moderns are out of the stable or broken down, I have no choice but to jump in an A sometimes. Never heard of a head crack other than a freeze break due to no antifreeze. We have club members that have driven over 6000 miles in a single trip. Go for it.
