i recently purchased a 1928 Tudor that drives fine when I can get the starter to turn the motor over. It is currently setting across town at a relatives home because the starter won't turn over. I went to attempt to start it using the crank, but when the crank is placed through the crank bearing attached to the front spring, it is not inline with the crank pulley. Is it safe to pull the cotter pins and loosen the four nuts on the U-Bolts on the crank bearing, then slide the bearing until it lines up properly? If not, what do I need to in order to SAFELY make this adjustment? I've looked at every book I have, and have yet to find the answer.
