There are about 50% of the Model As with mechanical brakes and about the same with hydraulics. Mechanicals work fine when rebuilt and set close to proper tolerances. Mech. will not feel like the hydraulics you are used to in your modern vehicles but they do work fine. Come to the MOdel A club meeting on Sunday Aug 12 (2nd Sunday) and look at some of the cars with both kinds and talk to the drivers and other owners to get some opinions.
Meet at the Knights of Columbus building in Farmers Branch at 2280 Springlake Dr one block west of I35 and Valley View Lane and the one block south of Valley View. Get there about 1:30 sp you will have time to look and visit before the meeting at 2:30. Topic is Hubley Derby cars so bring the grand kids they will enjoy seeing the cars go down the little track. These cars are about 8 - 10 inches long and are all Model A body styles.
