Join one of the national clubs. Check out MAFCA.com and modelaford.org for a list of local clubs in your area. That would be a good place to find something close to home and also get acquainted with some of the people who have done a project. They can help find a car and advise you if you are not sure what you are getting into. Try to find a car as complete as you can. The more missing parts the harder it is to get a car finished and a lot depends on your skill set as what you can do and what you have to have done. If it runs and drives that is better because you would have something easier to start the project with and restore it in stages as you go along. It also makes the project easier. If you want a driver type car which is what most people have then that is fine. You can still participate in club activities and work on it as a project.
