Sounds like your regulator stuck. I would run 6 or 12 volts with an alternator. The regulator is built into the alternator and you do not have to worry about this. Plus the Alt. is more dependable. 12 volts would be better as that is what a lot of folks are going to now. Even the Model Ts. Ken Davis in Colleyville TX sells the 6 volt alternators. What part of the country are you located? Put in a higher ammeter if you go to 12 volts. The original ammeter will work fine but you would prevent future problems with the larger capacity ammeter.
