Cabriolets forever!!!! We have driven ol "BESS" over 57,000 miles during the past eight years. Make all Nationals and regionals. Look for the yellow cab with the coon tail on the CB antenna.Looking forward to being your Year 2000 National Grand tour guide in Kansas City. Tech tip: Lubricate all brake rollers, cams, pins, wedges, etc. including wheel bearings with a good Hi-temp, estreme pressure grease such as H&B Industries grease 1-800-466-0855. This is NOT a advertisment for this Co. but a quality product that will not liquify under extreem conditions and drip onto the brake shoe causing brake grab and consequent shimmy. Thanks for a super spot on my computor. "Dob"

Hi my name is Sarah Lewis. I am a 16 year old with a major project. I had to do a project on life in the twenties and one of the topics we had to write on was transportation in the twenties. I was looking for some info. on transportation in the twenties and this was the first site I found. I lokked into it and I did not need to go anywhere else. I got all the info. I needed for the topic and a picture to. I just wanted to say that I really love your web site and I feel that I have learned something that I didn't know before. Congradulations on your awsome web site and keep up the great work. Sincerely, Sarah Lewis

i was a member of dallas club back in 74-76. i really enjoyed all that we were doing back then. but my job started moving me around and i moved back to this area about 2 years ago however my 1928 briggs fordor has been sitting in the garage untouched for more years than i can count. i think it is time to get the dust and cobwebs off and redo it . am glad to find the club still here and appearently doing well by the looks of this fine web page. am looking forward to renewing my membership if i may and getting back to the swing of things.

Great web page!!! I'm interested in buying a 1929 model A pickup from my stepfather. It's a closed cab, the roof is rotted out and needs replacing, and the tires will need replacing also. I know this is not much information, but can somebody help me with an estimate maybe! THANKS, DAN

Restoring a 29 pick up ., was Dads, in barn 30 years in pieces, has a different body than all pick ups I have seen , for example; much higher top, inlaid wood under the leather top, straight windshield and straight doors, wood sided bed and heaver tailgate than most , however: yesterday I changed the oil, transmission fluid, and diferential fluid and today I found at least a cup of oil leaked out the hole at the bottom of the fly wheel casing. I dont know why. It didnt leak out before I changed and added the fluids yesterday. Any help out there would be appreciated. I know the drain hole is thre but for what reason? How can I prevent the this in the future.

My grandmother gave me my Tudor Sedan when I was about 14, I am now 29. I hope to finally start putting my "A" back to- gether, I totally disassembled it back then and at that age I didn't have the money to buy the parts for the restoration. I still don't have the money or a really good place to work, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

I JUST GOT MY DAD'S 1931 "A" COUPE THAT WAS STORED IN CALIFORNIA FOR THE LAST 11 YEARS AND HOPE TO RESTORE IT. IT SEEMS TO BE SOLID BUT SURE IN NEED OF A LOT OF CARE. I THINK I RODE IN THIS CAR ONCE OR TWICE WHEN I WAS VERY LITTLE. I AM NOW 16 AND I DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE IN THE COUPES, BUT HOPE TO LEARN. I WANT TO JOIN THE MODEL "A" CLUB IN EDMOND OKLAHOMA

Am restoring a '30 coupe that I bought from a Bekins Storage Auction a year ago.. It was missing many parts as it was being restored 20 years ago by the owner when he died. The kids put everything in storage, hence some boxes of parts were sold during the various years auctions. After a year, I have it running and have most all of the parts needed to put it all back together... Had/have a problem with the color coat of lacquer lifting from the primer which has caused more than twice the work... also deflated much of the initial enthusiasm of the project.

Great Job! I have a 1929 coupe & a 1931 S/W. The coupe is in the precess of restoration. We do drive both cars alot. The only modifications to the coupe is a Model B motor that is counterbalanced and a 6 volt alt. The S/W sedan has a counterbalanced A engine. Everything else on both cars are stock. Both cars run great. Thanks for letting me visit.

How about some ol' time banjo music while you are surfing? If you have a sound card and your browser supports MIDI music files, you're in. For Ed Greany from the Orange Blossom Model A Club (below), click and listen to Orange Blossom Special
For more banjo music, go to the Model A Home Page.
The Model A is my 1929 Briggs Fordor which I located when I joined the Dallas Model A Ford club back in 1972. The car was a real basket case, but it got me started and was a good experience. I have also been a member of MAFCA and MARC for the last 25 years.

Hi Gus. We have two model A's. A 31 s/w town sedan and a late 31 PU truck. We belong to both MAFCA & MARC National clubs and enjoy touring long distances with our cars. I have modified the 31 s/w with a Borg Warner O.D., 17" wheels, hydraulic brakes,12 volt alt,39 V8 transmission,F100 steering, and finally the engine has inserts and pressurized,a Mallory ignition, downdraft carburator and a 6-1 head. This is a real neat touring A!! Our truck is ALL STOCK! We have started a NEW chapter of MAFCA, Azalea A's. If anyone in the area would like info please send an E-Mail to me.

Hi Gus. Very nice work you have done. We are now restoring a little Ford A Pickup and we hopefully can have it done during 1997. We also have 5 other Model A's that we drive as soon as we get some time to spare. Some of them can be seen at http://www.netclassics.com. My wife Evelyn has also an interesting little beauty, an Opel Olympia Cabrio, 1937. Just driven totally 60.000km. I do hope we can have it during a holiday trip this summer. Does anyone want to race in the center of Stockholm ? We are racing old classic cars at the Royal Djurgarden in the center of Stockholm 1 June 1997. Read more about it at netclassics. It is a race were you drive in an ideal time of 250 seconds per lap. If any of you are planning to be here in Sweden this summer this is the place. Please just mail me if you need more information about it or if you are interested in talking with a Swedish Ford A fan. Yours, Lars Hedstrom, Early Ford A Register.

I love to tinker with my Model A, and try to maximize performance. Having a Model A is not just a hobby, it's a lifestyle. If you don't like getting greasy, it's not for you. Model A's will always, no matter how careful you are, will figure out a way to get you greasy.

Hi Model A'ers and especially Gus. You keep on doing good for Model A's on the 'net. We have a '29 Town Sedan that is our regular tour car. My dad and I bought it when I was 14 and it is basically unrestored in the strict sense. We just try to keep it in good running condition and out of the bad weather. It's nothing great to look at but it sure is fun to drive! We also have a '31 Victoria (a basketcase if there ever was one!) we are trying to restore and a '30 Closed Cab Pick Up that is my 15 year old son's project. It is on hold for the time being while we work on his '53 Chevy pickup, getting it ready to drive when he gets his license next month.

Gus, We have a 1930 Model A Black coupe with Dual Sidemounts. We are in the Real Estate business and use the car for sheer pleasure, and also use it to promote our business. I am called " A - Model Realtor " on the south side of Atlanta. We love the fellowship we have with other Model A enthusiasts. We belong to MAFCA AND MARC. I am not mechanically inclined so I depend on my son to keep my car fine tuned, and I might say he does a great job. I will send you a photo of the car. Thanks for setting up this site.
