To Londra and Jamie below. I think it's more of a Los Angeles plastic surgery thing then a general Califonria issue. I find that we have a lasik new york issue here. We have quite a few laser eye surgery new york converts. It's like people are afraid to wear glasses anymore. Oh well I love my fellow New Yorkers with or without glasses. Maybe you two should move to New York! speaking of moving do you know a good immigration attorney . Either I need to improve vocabulary or increase vocabulary because I can't communicate with my US immigration lawyer .

To Londra below (it is a down to earth site), I couldn't agree more. I work in Los Angeles and there is a plastic surgeon in our building. In my office alone I know people who have had liposuction a tummy tuck and a face lift . I also know a lasik surgeon who tries to convince everyone he meets to throw out their glasses and get lasik and laser vision correction . People are so vain. Anyhow, let's respect this guest book and commiserate about living in LA offline. Email me at jamieyellowfeather@hotmail.com.

Thank you for producing such a down to earth site. I recently moved to Los Angeles California and can't believe how many superficial people I have met. I think they should rename the state plastic surgery California or cosmetic surgery California . Excuse me for saying this but I have never seen so many breast implants . There are all kinds of breast enhancement surgery: breast enlargement breast augmentation even breast reduction it's crazy.

In 1957 I bought my first auto, a 1930 Model A coupe for $30.00. I loved it, played with it, worked on it, and then heartlessly sold it. I've regretted that ever since. Now I intend to have another, albeit a roadster. I'm too busy as a sculptor to restore one, so will be looking for a real nice one ready to drive. I'll be prowling your classifieds and attending meets until I find miss perfect.

1928 Model A Town Sedan, Serial number A190356, put on blocks in a barn by the original owner in 1939. He went into Army, got killed, his mother died in 2001, and I bought the car from the estate. I have a set of new tires and wheels on it, and I drove this car home from the auction. Runs well, in case anyone's curious. :) Everything original, down to plugs and rotor, except for wheels and tires, as no one seems to know where originals went. Paint is essentially non-existent, but it was originally a sort of a turquoise on top, black on bottom. Body is perfect. Horn has one edge of mouth bent about 1/4 inch, but works fine. All glass is out, and interior rotted away, but seats are in real good shape, springs, that is. All door panels and knobs, etc. are there. Canvas top is gone, but wood framing is like new. Have original Autolite heater and crank, and from what I can tell car is totally complete. Odometer shows 9412, although that is probably meaningless. There are five .45(?) bullet holes coming into the left rear. Looks like automatic spray pattern to me, which is probably also what took out the glass. Crud on driver's and left rear seat which is probably blood. Don't know any history on this, as no one seems to remember any gunfights involving this car. There is one story which is fairly outrageous, and I'm trying to locate a relative of the owner who might be able to verify it. I would like to get some idea of the value of this car, since if it is not too much more than I paid, I'll just use it for a driver. Otherwise, I'll sell it. I'm not attached to it, particularly, although it would make a real babe-magnet, for really old babes.

I have a 1931 Standard Coupe, my questions is did ford ever put a full length bumper on the rear of the 31? Also for the engine experts: is there a sheild or metal plate between the oil pan and the fly wheel (on the front of the engine, my does not have one? The engine is an "A" motor. thanks

Just discovered your site. I really like it. Interesting to see all the activities that your club is envolved in. The pictures of the club activities have given me several ideas for our club -- Cornhusker Model A, Lincoln, NE. The pictures of your cars are great. Thats probably the largest single collection of Model A cars on the web. Keep up the good work.

The Dallas Club and the webmaster deserve a great round of applause for this site. If any newcomer wants to know what the Model A hobby is all about, just read the messages on the various pages of this website. I've been a member of the Illinois Region of MARC for 20 years and have a '31 slant window town sedan. I'll add my two cents whenever I can help someone out.

Nice forum. I have been collecting and restoring Model A Fords for over 40 years and can't seem to get it out of my system. I currently am restoring a 29 standard coupe and a 29 sport coupe. I have relatives in San Antonio who are horse enthusiasts, but I keep trying to get them interested in old Fords.

I have a wrench, "box end" @ one end "open" at the other end, that is curved and has the name FORD in script with the letters T- 5893 forged into it. I have been told that this is a tool that was used on a Model T Ford and it was the onlt tool required. How would I find out more about this item?

Just thought I would pass this along - I have owned several A Model's in the 50's . My buddy showed me a trick that he had learned while dating his steady - in his 31 Coupe . You just grab the shifter close to the bell top and pull up and rotate shifter toward the dash and your girl can sit closer . Preferably this is done on the open highway in 3rd gear . Love those A's !

Ford F100 steering for a Model A: Bob Taylor and Chuck Cheshire of the Dallas Model A Ford Club have prepared a nine page illustrated document relative to the conversion of Ford F100 steering for use in a Model A. The document contains data relative to evaluating the parts you have, or may buy, where to acquire new parts, and a list of those who do the conversion work. Copies of the document are available from Bob or Chuck, who ask that you cover their direct costs of copying, mailing material, and postage.
