Car For Sale:1930 Model A Ford, Briggs Fordor, blind quarter sedan. This is an original, unrestored Model A, and to my knowledge the body has never been off of the frame since new! It has vintage green mohair upholstery, which is in pretty good shape considering its age. There is wear-through at the edge of the driver’s seat but the remainder is very presentable. I was told that the car was repainted in 1978 to its current color. It has original, rebuilt Model A shock absorbers that I put on it three years ago. The speedometer shows 79,540 miles but I don’t know if that is the actual mileage ~ it had 64,480 when I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. The engine has a Simmons super high compression head, Simmons intake manifold and a Simmons carburetor. (A Simmons head by itself recently sold on e-Bay for over $420!) This Simmons configuration supposedly increases the horsepower by more than 7 Hp. It has an excellent air-conditioning system installed three summers ago. It has a fiberglass insert (resembles the firewall) on the inside of the firewall for additional insulation, the front quarter panels have additional insulation behind the kick panels and the front floor has both felt and ‘horsehair’ padding for additional insulation. The electrical system was converted to 12 volts, and it has a 12 volt alternator. It has turn signals via the cowl lights and the tail lights. It is equipped with a 'Karry King Karrier' ~ a special trunk that folds down to slighyly more tan ½ the size of a Model A pickup bed. I put new four tires on it three years ago, a rebuilt transmission three years ago, a new roof two years ago, a new radiator core two years ago, a new clutch & pressure plate early last year and a new battery in December 2009. I installed “Flat Head Ted’s” brake floaters and it now has excellent stopping ability! It also has chrome spoke covers on all five wheels. It drives very well – I drove it 2,800 miles last year on club tours, and the 'A' was awarded the MARC 2,500 mileage badge in 2009, which stays with the car. In addition to this 1930 Briggs Fordor Blind Quarter I have a 1929 Model A speedster, and I recently bought a 1931 Slant Windshield Fordor, so I cannot afford to keep the Briggs Blind Quarter Fordor! I’m asking $14,750 as it is presently configured. I will reduce the price to $13,500 with the Simmons system changed out to a standard head, intake manifold and Tillotson carburetor and the Karry King Karrier removed and a standard spare tire mount installed. All 4 are rebuilt with new linings, springs and wheel cylinders. They have been blasted and painted black. The front plates have had the mounting holes welded and new holes drilled to fit a Model “A” spindle. A spacer kit is included to complete the front installation. The rear plates have had 3/16” removed from the outer edge to prevent rubbing on the drums. They are mounted in reverse with the cylinder on the bottom and have a new e-brake cable installed with hardware to attach to the stock cross shaft. The wheel cylinder hole is elongated to allow the bleeder to be mounted on top for easy bleeding. The price is $900.00 + shipping These require 1940-1948 hubs and 12” drums and will not work with Model “A” 11” drums. I have nice set of 4 drums with hubs. $750.00. All the mods are done so you won't need to do anything but bolt them on your 1928-1931 Ford. The e-brake cable and turnbuckle will attach to the stock cross shaft. I can supply a master cylinder mount if desired for $150.00 that will accept your choice of master cylinder. I also have hubs and hubs with cast iron drums attached for sale.
